SAVE THE DATE - Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) Vancouver Meeting

The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) is dedicated to bringing practitioners together to prevent and solve indoor environmental problems for the benefit of consumers and the public.  The national IAQA chapter was established in 1995. 

We opened our very own IAQA Vancouver Chapter, the first in Canada, in March 2016. 

IAQA Vancouver is pleased to present the fourth of its quarterly chapter meetings at 9 am on Wednesday, February 21, 2017 at the University of British Columbia on Indoor Air Quality in Green and LEED Buildings.

When:              9 am – 12 noon, February 21, 2017 (registration at 8:30am)

Cost: $25 for members, $35 for non-members (cheque made out to “IAQA Vancouver” or cash at door)

 

Professional Development Credits:

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH): 3 technical contact hours (0.25 CM)

Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH): Applied for maintenance points.

Certified Public Health Inspector (CPHI):  Applied for 3 professional development hours (PDHs)

Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP): This event contains 3 technical hours and may be eligible for BCRSP CM points. See BCRSP website at www.bcrsp.ca for CM point criteria.

Speakers

Karen Bartlett, PhD
Professor, SPPH, UBC

Dr. Bartlett is a Professor in the School of Population & Public Health, Occupational and Environmental Health Division, in the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. She holds a Masters degree in Occupational Hygiene and a doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of British Columbia. She received post doctoral training in inhalation toxicology at the University of Iowa School of Public Health.

She was a British Columbia Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar from 2002 – 2007. She received a Killam Graduate Teaching Award in 2011.

 

Chris Collett
Principal Consultant, Christopher Collett and Associates Ltd.

Chris Collett, Principal Consultant at Christopher Collett and Associates Ltd., has 35 years’ experience in IAQ research and consulting.  Chris has performed LEED IAQ testing in over 90 projects throughout Western Canada, and has also conducted more than 2,000 IAQ investigations of commercial, institutional, industrial and residential buildings worldwide.  Chris has authored numerous scientific and technical papers on IAQ, building performance and occupant health and comfort.

Chris is Membership Director of the IAQA Vancouver Chapter; Past President and Treasurer Emeritus of the ASHRAE British Columbia Chapter; and his company is a Green Building Specialist member of the Canadian Green Building Council.
